Tough day?
Cloning and setting up a lot of machines?
And you receive this error:
“Your computer could not be joined to the domain. You have exceeded the maximum number of computer accounts you are allowed to create in this domain. Contact your system administrator to have this limit reset or increased.”

And now? what you have done?

Active directory has a “quota” for how many machines a user can join in domain by day, to change that you are going to need to install the support tools or go the domain controller.

Follow this steps:

Run Adsiedit.msc as an administrator of the domain.
Expand the Domain NC node. This node contains an object that begins with “DC=” and reflects the correct domain name. Right-click this object, and then click Properties.
In the Select which properties to view box, click Both.
In the Select a property to view box, click ms-DS-MachineAccountQuota.
In the Edit Attribute box, type a number. This number represents the number of workstations that you want users to be able to maintain concurrently.

When you try to execute an application the following error appears:

“Application Error : The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.”

This is an easy fix.

The application developer used the .Net Framework, juts install the framework and Re-run the application

You got the error “Process INETINFO.EXE (PID=1748). Topology Discovery failed, error 0×8007077f. ”
On your event viewer after you changed the IP from your server, and you don´t know what is it.
This error can appear on DSQuery, OWA, OMA and others Exchange 2003 and 2007 Servers.
What this error means?
It means the Exchange Server doesn´t know wich site it is located.
There is a great possibility you don´t include the new subnet on the list of your sites..
So Let´s fix It.

1. Open Active Directory Sites and Services
2. Go to Subnets

Check if your new IP has an subnet there. If not Include it.

3. Include the new subnet (remember class c = 255.255.255.0)

4. Wait 15 minutes or replicate the server manually.

I restart the server just to make sure he gets the new info.

After that your problems should go away

Error in Dynamic Disks : A dynamic volume’s status is Healthy (At Risk)

You open your disk Management Tool and see your Dynamic disk as Healthy but it says (At Risk) on them.
So what is really happening.

In general this kind of problem happens when you have any I/O error, maybe a latency in the SAN, maybe one disk write or read fails. So be aware and check if everything is ok.

Clicking in Re-activate will clean this error, but if it keeps appearing take care, something very bad is happening and can corrupt your data.

How to install VmWare server on CentOS 4.4 64 Bits and Red Hat Enterprise (and avoid ” bad ELF interprete” error)

After you receive the last shinning server, 64 bits Processor, you are crazy to install VmWare Server and consolidated your old servers and make more virtual machines.
You start the install and after some steps it stuck on the license, but your license is ok….
The error that appear is:

sh: /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory

What is the problem?

The binaries of the vmware are 64 bits capable, BUT some of them were compiled using i386 32 bits libraries.

So how you make this work?

Use yum to install..use this commands:

1 – yum install glibc.i686
2 – yum install xorg-x11-libs.i386

And remeber to go in to the BIOS and activate the Virtualization Option if the Processor is capable.
In the HP server it is located in Advanced Options – Processor Options – Intel Virtualization Technology -> enable

So what you do now?

This is a tricky problem, frequently this is an error on your local Outlook profile, If you go to the OWA everything will work without problem.

You may try running Outlook with the /cleanrules swith or just delete the .ost files and start a new perfil.

Remember .OST files. This files are created for the outlook cache function.

Creating static linked Applications on Visual Studio 2005 – Compile one executable file to run alone

So you need to develop some applications to your enterprise, and you need to call some c++ ou vc++.

Everything is working but when you deploy your application, common is one executable, it gives error and says

“This Application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.”

And you start to scratch your head.

So what is the problem:

You want to just deploy or execute one simple program compiled no dlls, ou another files;
You want it to be easy, just click and run

Now the solution:

In Visual Studio, you have to tell it to compile and link the dependencies and libraries together in executable.

Now stop talking and letÂ´s go to solution:

Open the Projects Proprierties
Go to Configuraration – General
In the use of MFC choose statically like in the picture below

4. After that go to Linker -> Input and put all your libs that your executable needs like picture below:

Build it and be happy!

You install all the patches in the windows 2003 Server, and When you reboot itÂ´s hang on the “applying security policies” or “Applying computer settings” and nothing happens.

In general it lasts for 2 hours, 1 hour for security and another for computer settings, after that you can log on and stop and disable the APC monitor software. In meantime your network connectios will be disabled on the server including the network services.

Why this happen? Check this KB 905716

0×1391 error when registering device cals or token CALs on Terminal services for Windows

The error 0×1391 usually means that the machine doesnÂ´t have a direct connection to the microsoft computers. By direct I mean direct really. if you have a transparent proxy or NAT it may cause a failure on the registration process.

To fix this, change your connection settings on terminal services licensing to browser connection, and complete the register in the browser, the process has more details to fill up, but it is easy, be sure to have your contract number or license agreement.
